I got this recipe in an email from Simple Nourished Living and I thought to myself that it sounded great and I definitely wanted to try it. I am fascinated for some reason by my slow cookier and any recipe that calls for the slow cooker makes me look twice. I know I’m weird like that.
But anyway I went food shopping and got all the ingredients and it was really easy to prep everything and get it in the slow cooker.
I had high hopes for this as it was cooking. It really did smell amazing. It definitely is not the best looking thing but I was hoping it would taste amazing. So this was the main meal for dinner. It was a cold night and my hubby and I were looking forward to a hearty chowder.
At first taste I thought okay this is good. Then as I kept eating I was like eh not so great. I was hoping that it was one of those recipes that tasted better the next day. Well it is a few days later and I brought it into work for lunch and eh I cannot even finish it. So I definitely won’t be making this again. Also I used chicken instead of turkey like the recipe calls for. Picture below from Simple Nourshed Living. The one I took kinda resembled :
Then I even burnt the Fiber One 80 calorie wrap I wanted to eat with this. Ugh!
It just wasn’t meant to be. Well they cannot all be winners. I am going to make a baked potato soup from Skinny Taste this weekend so I will report back on how that turns out.
Also an update on me. Stayed the same this week. I will take it as I definitely indulged over the weekend.
